Hi,

I am currently using the reporting service in AdWords API to download large files containing all our ads in compressed CSV format. Approx 750k rows.

I am migrating to Google Ads API, but unable to find a similar service. If this is true what would you recommendation be to download large files? If I am paging JSON objects surely this is very expensive as opposed to compressed CSV?

Thanks

Perhaps a better usecase would help to explain what im tyring to do.

I download the entire account every morning, then I have an algorithm that checks which adgroups/ads etc need to be paused/enabled and then pushes the changes. Currently I download the entire account using AdWords API reporting service and when downloading the reports as compressed CSV the process takes no more than a few minutes. However I have just used the Google Ads API and to just download an ad performance report it has taken over 20 minutes!

Could you please recommend a better more efficient way of doing this. Our entire internal PPC tech solution relies on this and we can't have our users waiting around 30+ minutes to download reports which otherwise would take a few minutes using the old API. The reason we cant use the old API any longer is because there are no headline 1 and headline 2 fields in CALL_ONLY_AD.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for writing to us regarding your concern. Could you please share the complete report query along with the client customer id used to generate Ad Performance Report via Google Ads API for me to take a look into the latency issue further? Please note, the Google Ads API is moved to 'beta' mode due to performance concerns. We recommend to continue running production systems using the AdWords API. While Google Ads API is in “beta”, you may use the new API for testing and development work in preparation for future migration. Please keep in mind that during this "beta" phase, there may be breaking changes in the Google Ads API.

P. S. Please use Reply privately to author option while sharing the details for investigation.
