Request Summary:

We request Google Ads to introduce a Billing/Transactions API that allows users to retrieve billing data without requiring Payment Manager permissions.

Problem Statement:
Currently, to access billing data via API, users must have Payment Manager permissions. However, most customers make payments through agencies, and agencies are often unwilling to grant such high-level billing permissions. As a result, the existing billing API is practically inaccessible to many users who need this data for financial reconciliation.

Proposed Solution:
Introduce a Billing/Transactions API that allows users to access relevant billing and transaction details without requiring Payment Manager permissions. This would enable businesses to retrieve and reconcile financial data efficiently without dependency on agencies for access.

Expected Benefits:

  • Enables customers to retrieve billing data needed for financial reconciliation.
  • Reduces dependency on agencies, improving transparency and efficiency.
  • Maintains data security by allowing controlled access to relevant billing transactions without exposing full payment management capabilities.

We believe this enhancement will significantly improve the usability of Google Ads' billing data for a broader range of customers.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

I understand that you would like us to introduce a feature in the Google Ads API that can help you fetch the billing transactions without requiring the payment manager permissions.

Note that I will raise a request for this feature to be supported in the API; however, this is subject to review. So, I cannot provide a scheduled timeline for its availability in the API. I would recommend you follow our Release Notes and Blog Post for future updates.
