Dear Google Ads API Support Team,
I am a developer and I have recently encountered some issues while using the Google Ads API. It seems that unlike Google Ads Editor, the API cannot set Discovery, PMAX, and Display ad types. I was wondering if you could explain to me why this limitation exists?
Furthermore, I would like to know if there is a way to set operating system and device types, version, age range, gender, and income range to unknown when creating Discovery, PMAX, and Display campaigns using the API, just like in Google Ads Editor. Is this possible?
If these features are not currently available, are there any plans to add them to future versions of the API? If so, when can we expect them to be released?
Thank you for your help!
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
For your #1 question - Could you confirm if you were referring to Campaign types (Search, Discovery, PMAX, Display) or to ad types (Text, Responsive, Image, Shopping, etc.)? If you were referring to campaign types, Google Ads API supports this. Kindly refer to the following links below:For your #2 question - could you please elaborate the details here, so we could provide guidance accordingly?
- PMax: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/performance-max/create-campaign
- Discovery: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/discovery/create-campaign
- Display: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/campaigns/create-campaigns
You may also provide to us a screenshot of your Google Ads UI/Editor showing the entity that you were referring to. In addition, you may share to us any Help center article that contains any information to the entities in question.
