Hi All,

We currently have an app that retrieves an ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT for all of our clients so we can bill them based on their spend.

As of recent, we have been advised that there are cases in which the spend reported in our system doesn't match Google's. It appears that the difference comes from Local Campaigns.

I understand that the current Adwords API won't support Local Campaigns, but I'd figure that at least from a top-level standpoint, the total amount of cost at the account level should include the cost accrued by them, or am I mistaken?

Thanks,

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Local campaigns aren't supported in the AdWords API. However, they are supported in the Google Ads API.

As for your question on (the total amount of cost at the account level should include the cost accrued by them, or am I mistaken?), in the AdWords API's perspective, if a certain campaign type isn't supported, then the metrics associated to that type isn't also included. In addition to that, since the AdWords API is due to sunset next April, it is recommended for users to upgrade to the new Google Ads API.
