Hello Team,

While creating a Custom Segment in the Google Ads UI, I noticed that when typing into the “Add interests or purchase intentions” field, it dynamically shows keyword suggestions or ideas (autocomplete-style). This is very useful for guiding audience creation.

I would like to know:

  1. Is there an official API endpoint or service in the Google Ads API that provides these keyword or interest suggestions?

  2. If yes, could you please share the documentation or the GAQL resource to query these intent-based suggestions?

  3. If not currently available via API, is this feature on the roadmap for future inclusion?

I've attached a screenshot for reference to show the behavior I’m referring to.

Thank you for your help and clarification.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

By reviewing your query, I understand that you want to generate keyword suggestions or ideas while creating the custom segment through the Google Ads API. Kindly note that generating the keyword suggestions or ideas for custom segments are not yet supported in the Google Ads API. However, I'll raise a feature request for this to be available in the Google Ads API. I cannot provide a scheduled timeline for the availability of this request, I would recommend you to please follow our release notes and blog post for further updates.

Thanks,
