Why can't my API get thcost of Google ads?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team. 

Can you confirm whether you are trying to use the Google Ads API for retrieving the cost from your Google Ads account? If yes, I would recommend you to use the customer resource to fetch the account level cost using the Google Ads API. However, I am providing the sample GAQL query as per your requirement:

SELECT customer.id, customer.descriptive_name, customer.resource_name, metrics.cost_micros FROM customer

Note that the above GAQL query will fetch the total account level costs using the API. You can use the search or searchStream methods in making the API calls while retrieving the data. Additionally, you can utilize the Google Ads Query Builder and Query Validator to build and validate the queries for retrieving the data from the Google Ads API.

However, it's important to note that costs in a Google Ads account are recorded at various levels such as campaign, ad group, ad, asset, etc. To retrieve cost data for each of these levels, you’ll need to use the corresponding resources provided by the Google Ads API. So in order to assist you the correct resource, I would request you to provide an uncropped UI screenshot of your Google Ads account (with visible customer ID) by highlighting the costs and fields that you are trying to retrieve using the Google Ads API.
