Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team.

I would like to inform you that I have removed your response from the forums as it contains the PII information.

Please find the answers for your queries below.

1. Is this error caused by exceeding the allowed number of requests (quota)?

The RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED error means that a system frequency limit has been exceeded. Kindly prevent sending too many requests in a short period of time and also ensure to set up short delays between requests or combine more operations in fewer requests. Also, please check this sample code for how to Handle a Rate Exceeded Error for more information and Best practices guide to optimize the efficiency and performance.

2. Where can I check my current quota and usage?

You may check out API Limits and Quotas for more information about the API Limits and Quotas. To view the quotas and current usage, open Google Cloud Console > In the navigation menu, go to IAM & Admin > Quotas & System Limits. You will find the quotas depending on the API that you are using.

3. Is there a way to monitor and set alerts when we’re close to hitting the quota limit (via API, dashboard, or any recommended method)?

You can only view the quotas, your current usage and there is no method in the Google Ads API or in the Google Cloud console to set the limit alerts.

I would suggest that you retry the request if the issue still persists and kindly provide us with the following details.

  • Google Ads Manager account ID/CID
  • Developer token ID
  • Confirmation of retry request timing is 19500 second or any other value

Kindly share the requested details via Reply privately to the author option or a direct private reply to this email.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.

Thanks,
