Clarification on Custom Segment Insights and Discrepancy in Custom Audience Count via API

Hello Team,

I’m currently working with Custom Segments using the Google Ads API and would appreciate your help in clarifying two points:

1. In the Google Ads UI, while creating a Custom Segment, I notice there is a section for “Segment Insights” (screenshot attached and highlight with red rectangle).
   → Could you please confirm whether these insights are accessible through the Google Ads API?

2. In the UI, I can see only 4 Custom Segments under Audience Manager (Screenshot attached).
   However, when I query via the API using the following GAQL:

   SELECT custom_audience.description, custom_audience.id, custom_audience.members, custom_audience.type, custom_audience.resource_name, custom_audience.status, custom_audience.name FROM custom_audience WHERE custom_audience.status = 'ENABLED'

   → I am getting 7 segments. Can you please explain the reason for this difference?

I would like to inform you that the segment insights metrics are not accessible as per the documentation of the Google Ads API. Kindly note that, I will raise a request for this feature to become available in the Google Ads API. However, I cannot provide a scheduled timeline for its availability in the API. So, I would recommend you to follow our Blog Post and Release Notes for future updates.

In order to assist you further with why there is a discrepancy in the custom segments data between the Google Ads UI and the Google Ads API, I request you kindly share the Google Ads account customer ID under which these custom segments are present so that we can assist you better. We would like to specify first the following when comparing the value of the Google Ads UI and Google Ads API.

• The segments and fields of the API and UI should be the same.
• The date range should also be the same.
• Comparing the API and UI at the same level as much as possible
