Performance Max Campaign Simulation

Quick question,

Is it possible to use campaign_simulation or bidding_strategy_simulation with performance max campaigns? I can't get the api to return anything and just wondering if it's because my campaigns are performance max.

Thank you for raising your concern to my team. Allow me to provide support here.

For the bidding_strategy_simulation, this is not much related with campaigns or its campaign report types because it is more focused on retrieving simulation for bidding strategy. The supported combinations of simulation type and simulation modification method are detailed below respectively:
1. TARGET_CPA - UNIFORM
2. TARGET_ROAS - UNIFORM

As for the campaign_simulation, I am afraid that campaign performance max is not supported as the only supported combinations to retrieve information using it are listed here.

Please can you advise how it's possible to retrieve budget simulation data from the api? What I need is the information that is available in the UI on the attached screenshot.

Thank you for your reply.

You can try and use the BUDGET simulation type for your campaign simulations, as listed in the table from this guide. Let us know how this goes on your end.

I tried that but it seems to only returns Search campaigns. I was asking for advice on how to pull the budget simulation for performance max campaigns. 

Please can you give me specific advice rather than asking me to try something? If you don't know then just say so.

Hi John,

Thanks for getting back to us.

As per this guide, it says below:

"Additionally, bid simulations work with Search Network-only campaigns, Display Network-only campaigns, Shopping campaigns, and Hotel campaigns. For Display Expansion on Search, only information pertaining to the Search Network portion of a campaign is returned."

You will not be able to pull the budget simulation for performance max campaigns. Let us know if you have any further questions.
