PHP library cannot authenticate with cryptic error: [AuthenticationError.AUTHENTICATION_FAILED @ ]

I'm trying to get the AdWords API php library going, getting this error:

[AuthenticationError.AUTHENTICATION_FAILED @ ]

No log file written anywhere from what I can see. Where can I see more information or possibly solve this?

I followed those steps exactly. My MCC account is user1+...@mycompany.com, my main AdWords account is us...@mycompany.com. The application owner is user1+adwords and the token belongs to user1. But I've also tried the other two combinations.

Is there anywhere I can get a more helpful error message?

Hello,

Could you provide the SOAP request and response logs by first enabling logging for the PHP client library? You could use AdWords account to make the API calls except for the account management. You could use MCC account for the account management.

Hi,

I see from the SOAP logs that you are submitting a DFP API request, as the POST is to /apis/ads/publisher/v201505/ActivityService. If you generated the OAuth credentials for the AdWords scope, then those credentials won't work for DFP.
