I can't see anything in the adwords web intreface called a 'landscape'.  What is this data meant to represent:

Probably not as silly a question as you think, maybe a bit loaded.

A Bid Landscape is a multidimensional histogram of performance statistics for a biddable entity in AdWords.

It consists of a series of performance estimates for each of a series of bids.

Bid Landscapes are retrieved either at the AdGroup or Criterion level.

Each Bid Landscape is expressed as a series of LandscapePoints : https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/latest/DataService.BidLandscape.LandscapePoint

Each LandscapePoint shows you the estimated clicks, cost, marginalCPC, impressions, etc for a particular bid amount for the AdGroup or Criteria you have requested the BidLandscape for.

IMHO, this data is only really useful if you have conversion tracking which allows you to actually attribute real value to your clicks at the keyword level.

Many thanks jstedman.  Is this the data we see in the web interface when we click on the 'Bid Simulator' icon available for each adgroup and keyword?  It definitely sounds like it!

You mentioned that bid landscapes are either retrieved at ad group level or criterion level. What is the best way to get that data fro a client level if client got like 1000 campaigns?

Hello,

BidLandscape is only available for ad groups and criteria. In your case, you could iterate through all the AdGroups or criteria to get BidLandScape.

Thanks,
Yin, AdWords API Team.
