I know that Google stopped passing gclid for iOS 14 clicks due to ATT changes that Apple is implementing. However, this week Apple updated its guidance (see below) and the way i'm reading it passing gclid in order to track conversions is now allowed under ATT.

How can we ask the Google tech team to again include gclid for iOS 14 clicks? Without gclid conversions tracking data is not accurate and optimizations are very hard. I'm aware of the new modeled conversions technology but it is not released yet and it will not be as accurate as actual conversions data based on gclid.

Private Click Measurement
Apple supports Private Click Measurement for iOS and iPadOS apps, in addition to websites. Advertising networks can now measure the effectiveness of advertisement clicks within iOS or iPadOS apps that navigate to a website. This information can be used to understand which advertisements drive conversions (such as purchases or signups) — while maintaining user privacy.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for reaching out to our API support team.

Regarding the privacy changes and how it affects the generation of the GCLID, this is unfortunately already outside the scope of our API team. Since this is more of a Product related concern, I would recommend that you reach out instead to the Google Ads Product Support team instead, via this link, for further guidance. I hope this helps.

Best regards,
