Hi,

We are building a dashboard to create and track insights of google campaigns. We are having only BASIC access. In order to show realtime metrics, we need to fetch the data very frequently. How do we track no of operations made during API calls? Is it same as the no of requests count shown in Google console dashboard?

Thanks,
Aromal S

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

From the Google Ads API perspective, it is possible to see the API calls made on a project ID basis by checking the Google Cloud Console. However, the number of requests shown in the Google Console dashboard does not align with the number of operations you're making, as one API request can involve multiple operations.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply!

Can you help us with how to fetch number of operations made per API request? Because we are facing RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED error frequently since we have basic access.

Also, we have requested for STANDARD_ACCESS but we haven't received any updates from ads compliance team. This is preventing our users from making use of features properly.

Thanks,
Aromal S

Hi,

Here are the answers for your queries:

1. Can you help us with how to fetch number of operations made per API request? Because we are facing RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED error frequently since we have basic access.

By reviewing your query, I understand that you are getting the error "RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED", it means that a system frequency limit has been exceeded. Kindly prevent sending too many requests in a short period of time and also ensure to set up short delays between requests or combine more operations in fewer requests. Also, please check this sample code for how to Handle a Rate Exceeded Error for more information. Additionally, we also have daily API operation limits where requests that violate these limits are rejected with the error: RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED. You may check out API Limits and Quotas for more information. Kindly note that we do not have an API request or service in Google Ads API, in order to track the number of operations.

2. we have requested for STANDARD_ACCESS but we haven't received any updates from ads compliance team. This is preventing our users from making use of features properly.

The access requests are handled by the Google Ads API Compliance team, we are transferring the case to the Ads API Compliance team. Can you kindly provide the following information for the compliance team to further assist you with your concern:

  • Case ID generated from the compliance team in the format 0-0###########0 (if there is any generated)
  • Confirm your Google Ads Manager Account (MCC) ID
@Compliance team, please confirm if you are able to assist in the below access request.

Summary:

The user has applied for the standard access with the below details.
  • Google Ads Manager Account (MCC) ID: requested
  • Case ID: requested

Do reach out to the Google Ads API support team for any queries related to the API.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Hi,

We still haven't received any updates on STANDARD_ACCESS request. I humbly request you to escalate because it's taking longer time to get any update.

Case ID : 8-0096000034813

Thanks!
