Good day team,

We are aware that certain extension service have become deprecated, however it's still possible to have the information available in a report on the google ads console. Any data before 2022-03-01 can be retrieved via a request to the google ads API. Unfortunately, this is not the case for any upgraded extensions. We have noticed that we can do this using the google ads console (see screenshot)

My question is:
Can we retrieve the data of all upgraded extensions using the google ads API?

Hi Casper,

Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads API support team.

With regard to your concern, please note the upgraded extensions that you can see in the UI are equivalent to asset-based extensions in the API. With this, the asset-based extension reports that you can use are provided below: Let me know if you have any questions with the provided documents.

Hi Jinky,
Our team is also looking into showing the upgraded ad extensions, along with related data. Thank you for the information you shared it is very useful, but I have a few more things that I would like to clarify.
I would like to ask if any of resource types (either listed or not) correspond to the following page: https://ads.google.com/aw/adextensions/allupgraded . We would like to retrieve the same data/information that is available in the ad extension report in the ui.

The 'ad_group_ad_asset_view' resource group seems to be the one which returns the same set of asset id-s that are in the All(upgraded) extension report. Is it  indeed? If not, does any of the reports listed by you return the exact same set of asset ids that the 'https://ads.google.com/aw/adextensions/allupgraded' ? Will de data match the report

Best regards,
Noemi

Hi Noémi,

I work with Jinky. To get of the  the 'All(upgraded)' screen you can use these 3 resources together: The ad_group_ad_asset_view resource will provide all asset based extensions metrics at ad level for each extension and won't show customer assets in general for entire account, nor campaign level attached assets for each campaign nor for ad group level. The 'All(upgraded)' screen shows the asset based extension data at link level and not segmented by ad.

Hi Aryeh,

Thank you for the information. Your suggestion is working perfectly for one of the account's data I tried it with, but for an other account we receive way more records through the API for these three endpoints (without duplications) than the 'All(upgraded)' screen.

Do you know what could cause this behaviour. Should any filters be set when requesting the data from the API ?

Best regards,
Noemi

Hi Noémi,

Thank you for getting back to us.

So our team can investigate further your concern about retrieving more records via the API as compared to the UI screen of another account, could you share as well the generated and complete request and response logs, and request-id? In addition, could you share that account's complete screenshot of the 'All (upgraded)' view as well?

If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled (use DEBUG log level) by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation.

You may then send the requested information via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your quick reply. It does not seem to be a bug at the moment, as I could get it to show more/different set/ of the asset extensions in the Google Ads ui as well, after changing the filters. It looks more like a preset limit, which makes the ui to show only 10-12 extensions at once. We will  certainly send the logs is if we get concerns about data.

Best regards,
Noemi
