Ads API Not Returning All Recommendations

Hello,

I am currently using the Google Ads API for the purpose of dismissing recommendations. In order to achieve this, I am making use of a query that retrieves all recommendations without any filters, as follows:

"SELECT recommendation.resource_name FROM recommendation"

Once I have fetched these recommendations, I proceed to send a dismiss request, which has been successfully completed. However, upon visiting the recommendation page of the related accounts, I have noticed that there are still some recommendations.

I have double checked this issue via the API, and can confirm that all the recommendations returned by the query have indeed been dismissed. Despite this, the Ads UI continues to display some recommendations that is not returned from the API.

Could you help with that please?

For us to have a clear illustration and understanding on the issue, kindly provide to us the complete request and response logs with request ID and request header generated on your end along with the uncropped screenshots of the data you want to retrieve in UI.

Note that these logs can be requested or provided to the developer handling the Google Ads API transactions when logging of the API requests has been enabled. You may check in client library logging and click your client library for the specific guideline to enable it.

For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag. This will cause the tool to include the HTTP response headers in the output.

Hello,

I sent logs and screenshot privately.

I added the request to fetch all recommendations. I dismissed all of them. Then I checked on Ads UI and there are still recommendations there.

With regards to your concern, please note the API doesn’t support all the recommendations in UI, which means that there are some recommendations that cannot be dismissed using Google Ads API. 

You may refer to the Optimization score and recommendations documentation for more information about recommendations. Based on this document, you will see the Recommendations types that are fully supported and / or supported by the Google Ads API. You may also see in this documentation on how to handle unsupported types.
