How to get Month-wise impression data using GAQL

I am building a graphical visualisation of the ads api data.
Here, i need months vs impressions Graph ie i need  impressions data on campaigns month-wise.

How do i build the query?
I tried the below Gaql->

SELECT segments.month, metrics.impressions FROM campaign WHERE segments.date > '2020-01-01'

AND segments.date < '2022-06-01'.

But this is giving me null result.
What am i doing wrong?is this same query applies for weekly/yearly datas
Please help me
