Hi Google team,

Thanks for your work, but 5 years after this bug has been identified, still not fixed.

A simple question: is it going to be fixed or definetly not?

In the doc and Gogole Ads Builder, GOOGLE_ADS_EDITOR is mentionned. Cf image.

Thanks for your reply.

Best,

Bastien

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

In order to assist you, please provide us with the uncropped UI screenshot with a visible customer Id by highlighting the change made via Google Ads Editor and that you are trying to retrieve using the Google Ads API.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Can you confirm that Google Ads Editor changes are retrieved through the API?

When using this query, I see all the changes but not those made with Google Ads Editor :

SELECT change_event.client_type, change_event.change_date_time, change_event.change_resource_name, change_event.change_resource_type, change_event.resource_name, change_event.user_email
FROM change_event
WHERE change_event.change_date_time BETWEEN '2025-10-01' AND '2025-10-28'
LIMIT 2000

It's the same for all Google Ads accounts I tested.

Thank you.

Hi,

No, Google Ads Editor changes are not retrieved through the API. Kindly note that changes made via Google Ads Editor won't be shown in change_event because Change Event only returns changes from the Google Ads API or similar services that use the same back end. For more information, you may check this limitations document.

I hope this clarifies.

Thanks,

Hi,

Thank you for your quick reply, even if it's sad.

You maybe have to update the Google Ads Builder, https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v22/change_status_query_builder, because google_ads_editor is listed the change_ressource_type list.

Best,

 Hi,

Yes, it is listed; however, it functions as a placeholder value. The API does not actually return changes made through the Google Ads Editor when you use this query builder.

Thanks,
