AdGroupAdService not retrieving all the ads

We researched the forum and web extensively about this problem. Yes, there's a similar question from 2011 but the resolution to that thread is unclear. Being that it is 2015, we would appreciate a review of this issue.

SITUATION

- There is an Ad group with a single ad in it that you can see in the UI. It is producing results that are being reported.

- We request and download an ad performance report that lists Ad ID, Ad group ID and other dimensions and metrics. The ad group and ad mentioned above are in the report.

- We want to get some details on the Ad, so we call the AdGroupAdService API to return the list of ads in the ad group.

(We are careful to not set any predicates other than assigning the Ad group ID and allowing for the Status field to be ENABLED, PAUSED, or DELETED.)

PROBLEM

No ads come back for that Ad group ID. Even when we specifically ask for that Ad by ID, nothing comes back.

The UI says the Status of the ad is "Approved", and its Ad type is Third party ad.

Any clues for us?

Hi Adigami,

Unfortunately, third-party ads are not supported through the AdGroupAdService. Currently, the only way to retrieve information on those ad types would be to use the Ad Performance Report.
