Hi,

We created a Google Ads MCC account to use for testing purposes with the OAuth flow and Google Ads API. We also requested and used a developer token with that project.

However, we’ve since learned that a developer token can only be associated with the first Google Cloud project it’s used with, and cannot be reassigned to a different project - including our production environment.

Given this limitation, we’d like to confirm the following:

Can we create a second MCC account specifically for production use, and request a new developer token for that environment?

This would allow us to maintain separate MCC accounts (and developer tokens) for testing and production, each linked to their own Google Cloud projects.

Would this approach be compliant with Google’s policies?

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Yes, you can create a second MCC account specifically for production use and submit a separate developer token application linked to a different Google Cloud project and it is compliant with Google’s policies. You can refer to the Help Center article link for more information about how to create a Google Ads manager account and this link for more information on how to obtain a developer token.

Thanks,
