Billing workflow when creating new accounts programmatically

Dear all, 

We are building the application that creates new Google Ads account under our MCC account when the new customer wants to start advertising on Google. The key idea here is that the customer should go live within short time (5 to 30 minutes) with their online ads after the ads get approved by Google.  

In our tool customer pays for the ads(they pay our company) and at the end we are paying for Google Ads costs. Again this is done due to simplify process for new customers. 

At the moment, we are creating a new accounts and launching campaigns successfully, but in order to campaign go live every time we need to go to Billing Setup and submit the payment profile of our organization. Once we get many new customers then it will be difficult to manage this manually. 

In Google Ads API documentation I read that we need to configure the monthly invoicing to manage Billing workflow's programmatically.   

So my questions:
1) Is it even possible to get monthly invoicing for newly created google ads accounts under MCC account?   
2) Basically how do we solve this issue?

Hi Shakhboz,

Thank you for raising your concern to the Google Ads API team.

To confirm, yes you need to have monthly invoicing enabled for the Google Ads account. However, as mentioned on this document, you might be able to use the monthly invoicing payment setting if your business meets certain requirements. These requirement include, but aren't limited to the following:

  • Being registered as a business for a minimum of one year.
  • Having an active Google Ads account in good standing for a minimum of one year.
  • Spending a minimum of $5,000 a month (this can vary by country) for any 3 of the last 12 months.

Based on the requirements, newly created ad account would not be able to enable the monthly invoicing, however, it would be best to confirm with the Google Ads Product support team as they are more familiar with this setup.

From the Google Ads API perspective, one you have the setting enabled, you can use our invoice service. You can create new billing setups using existing payments account or ones created at the same time.
