I am creating a script which updates the campaign's targeting criteria based on some data, but I am trying to figure out what the correct approach is to update that targeting critria.

Should I update the current Campaign Targeting Criteria object to a new location or should I delete the old one and create a new targeting criteria?

I have tried to update the Campaign Targeting Criteria directly using the Google Ads documentation examples but according to this documentation page (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v10/CampaignCriterion), the location is immutable.

I can see that I've somewhat already answered my own question in that the location is immutable, but is there still a way? The old Google Adwords API could do it, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Boris,

Thank you for reaching out to our API support team.

For updating your location criteria using the Google Ads API, you may refer to this section of our location targeting guide.

As for the error you are encountering, could you share to our team the complete request and response logs, and request-id, that was generated? You may then send the requested information via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.

Best regards,
