Not permit AREA_OF_INTEREST

I'm now creating an UniversalAppCampaign

when set positiveGeoTargetType to AREA_OF_INTEREST

GeoTargetTypeSetting  geoSetting = new GeoTargetTypeSetting();
geoSetting.setPositiveGeoTargetType(GeoTargetTypeSettingPositiveGeoTargetType.AREA_OF_INTEREST);
geoSetting.setNegativeGeoTargetType(GeoTargetTypeSettingNegativeGeoTargetType.DONT_CARE);

campaign.setSettings(new Setting[]{geoSetting});

It gets error

<faultstring>[OperationAccessDenied.OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE @ operations[0].operand.settings[0].positiveGeoTargetType; trigger:'AREA_OF_INTEREST']</faultstring>

It confused me because I can set it on the website page.

For example, I have change campaign 10071047492L to AREA_OF_INTEREST, and I retrieve it, the info is:

GeoTargetTypeSetting{negativeGeoTargetType=LOCATION_OF_PRESENCE, positiveGeoTargetType=AREA_OF_INTEREST, settingType=GeoTargetTypeSetting}

It's AREA_OF_INTEREST!!!

I didn't know why I can set it on the website page, but can't via the AdWords API.

Thank you for reaching out. The AREA_OF_INTEREST field is not available for the UniversalAppCampaign in the Adwords API. One possible workaround for this is to use the Google Ads API instead.
