Hello - I am pulling data through the Google Ads API to report on Performance Max (PMAX) campaigns.

I need to be able to see the metric data at the Asset Group level (impressions, clicks, conversions, etc. ) but when I add Asset Group to the query, it inflates all my metrics by 170- 220% and the results no longer match the data I am seeing in Platform.

Why would this be happening? I am providing a screenshot with anonymized asset group name data here for comparison so you can see the difference in results when asset group name is added to the query.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

As per provided information, I could see that you are comparing the Campaign report with the Asset group report. Note that you should not compare metrics of the two different resources. As the Campaign and Asset group are distinct and serve different purposes in the API.

If you are seeing the discrepancies while comparing campaign or asset groups resource data with the corresponding campaign or asset group in the Google Ads UI. Please provide us with the complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end and uncropped UI screenshot (from your Google Ads account) with a visible customer by highlighting the metrics of you are facing the discrepancies.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.
