Seeking advice: how long did it take to get Google Ads API access?

Hi everyone,

I applied for Google Ads API Basic Access on November 2, 2024, and received a confirmation email shortly after. However, it's been over a month, and I haven’t heard back from the Compliance Team despite following up with them about the application.

I understand that application volumes are high, but I’m curious about others’ experiences. For those of you who have successfully received access:

• How long did it take for your application to be approved?
• Were there any specific steps you took to follow up or expedite the process?

This access is critical for a project I’m working on, and I want to set realistic expectations or adjust my approach if necessary. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

As per this guide, the review process could take days or sometimes weeks to complete when you submitted your application.

Nathan,

Even though we’ve followed the exact steps suggested by the Google Ads API Team, we’ve been waiting for months without any progress. Emails go unanswered, and form submissions don’t receive responses either.

If you look through the conversations in this group, you’ll see how many people are struggling to get a response or have their API access approved.

It seems like the team is incredibly overwhelmed. Hopefully, the compliance team gets additional resources soon to handle the backlog of requests.

We are facing the same issues here. Months of waiting and a lot of no replies from Google's teams.

Same here - many requests, months of waiting, following all the "follow up" steps.  Nothing.  Seems like that team got laid off in its entirety, and this one just has the auto-responder bot saying "go talk to that team".
