Asset Level Data for Display Campaigns

Hi, 

I’m trying to pull asset-level metrics for Display campaigns through the Google Ads API but haven’t found a working edge.

I’ve tried:

• ad_group_asset

• ad_group_ad_asset_view

• campaign_asset

• asset_field_type_view

None return performance metrics.
Am I missing an endpoint that supports this, or is there currently no way to get asset-level metrics for Display campaigns?

Hi Dani,

 

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

 

Note that the asset resource is a resource without metrics. So, you cannot fetch the metric data using the asset resource. Also, the 'ad_group_ad_asset_view' supports AppAds, Demand Gen campaigns, and Responsive Search Ads.

 

To confirm the availability of data that you are looking for via the Google Ads API, please provide us with the uncropped UI screenshot (with visible Google Ads customer ID) highlighting the fields.

Hi, 

I'm once again looking into this and I see on the google api v22 docs, it says it's possible, but I still can't pull data.

"A link between an AdGroupAd and an Asset. AdGroupAdAssetView supports AppAds, Demand Gen campaigns, Responsive Search Ads, and Responsive Display Ads."

Is this a mistake in the API docs, or is it a feature which should exist?

Hi,

As per API guide, the AdGroupAdAssetView resource should support Responsive Display Ads. Could you please provide us with the query that you are using to fetch data at the asset level (images/headlines) for display campaigns. 

Also, could you please confirm if the data really exists in Google Ads UI at asset level for display campaigns to fetch it via API.
