Add client account under MCC account

When we try to add a client account under our MCC account using REST API, we receive a mail from Google ads for account linking invitation but the client ad account is not reflecting under MCC in the Google ads UI immediately. There is a delay. Please let us know whether this delay is per the procedure or do we miss anything?
