Cost per Click (gclid)

Hey guys,

Right now, we can track each click using gclid, but is there a way we can also track the cost of each click/gclid instead of only getting the average cost for all clicks per ad?

Hey there,

There's no UI involved, I'm talking about the API.

I was wondering if we can get the cost per click, instead of the average cost per ad. Is that possible?

Thank you for the reply.

Could you confirm if the cost per click you are referring to is the sum of your cost-per-click (CPC) and cost-per-thousand impressions (CPM) costs during this period which is this “metrics.cost_micros ” field? Please confirm so that l can file a feature request, subject for review for this, since 'metrics.cost_micros' is not a valid field in the SELECT clause when 'click_view' is the resource in the FROM clause.

Hey again,

I'm not sure.  I don't want the sum of the CPC or CPM.

I want to retrieve the cost per each click? Is that not possible?

Thank you for your reply.

The actual cost per each click is unfortunately not available in the Google Ads API's reports. Currently only the metrics.average_cpc (The total cost of all clicks divided by the total number of clicks received.) is supported in the Google Ads API.

If the said cost per each click (GCLID) is already available in the Google Ads UI, you may provide our team with the complete screenshot and also your use case so our team can create a feature request, subject for review, as suggested earlier by my colleague Heidi.
