You can use the Google Ads API to setup
conversion tracking and create
conversion actions for the type of events you wish to track.
For uploading these (click) conversions you can then refer to this
guide. You may then monitor performance via the various
reports that support conversions metrics (ex.
metrics.conversions) and other metrics such as
impressions,
cost, and
clicks.
That said, since you mentioned wanting to use the
REST interface, you can indeed use this approach in making your API requests. You can refer
here for creating your conversion actions and to
here for uploading your click conversions using REST. For reporting you can refer to this
guide as well as the examples found
here.
In addition to the above, could you also provide more details on what you meant by :
"
..number of times the user clicks the advertisement or clicks the registration button in the advertisement"
This is so our team can verify if this is within the scope of the Google Ads API's conversion tracking feature.
