Deep Copy and AdGroup

As part of leveraging the existing ACE capabilities, we've built technology to create experiments and test different aspects of an AdGroup (primarily bid, but inclusive of other settings).

To do so effectively while also maintaining tracking, we prefer to copy AdGroups inclusive of their multipliers, lists, keywords, extensions, and ads. You can now do this elegantly in both AdWords Editor and the AdWords UI, but I can't seem to find any way to do this without iterating through numerous calls within the AdWords API.

If anyone knows a call that would deep copy AdGroups, it would be very helpful. If not, anyway the AdWords API team could post some code to do so? Assuming the code already exists if it powers Editor?
