Context:
We have created a campaign adgroup to show ads to only Male,  AgeGroup18-24 .

I have set the Demographics using the Adgroup Demographic criteria using this link.

Problem:
When I pass the negative:true for the criterion, it unchecks the demographics but when i create a positive ad group criterion for gender MALE it does not keep Male only as selected. Instead it keep all gender selected. Same applies to the age demographics. We created positive ad group criterion for AGE_RANGE_18_24 but it keeps selected all the age ranges.

Is this intended behaviour ?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

By reviewing your concern, I understand that you've established an ad group with the intention of targeting exclusively male individuals aged 18-24, using demographic criteria within the ad group settings. However, it seems that you're encountering issues with achieving the expected outcomes. Please note that this is not the intended behavior.

In order to investigate your issue further, kindly provide us with the complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end and uncropped UI screenshot of where you are facing the issue.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java.NetPHPPythonRuby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.
