Hi,

I am trying to retrieve leads from lead forms via API. I have created a test account and a lead form under the test account. However, I can't find a place for me to input some test data into the lead form. Currently, when I call the API it is always empty, so I can't review and test if the leads are being stored correctly in our system. May I know if there is a way to:

1. Input/Generate some test data in the lead form, or
2. Test with a lead form that already has test data inside?

Please kindly assist, thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Could you please confirm if you are referring to ConversionActionCategory? If so, you can use the following GAQL query to fetch the SUBMIT_LEAD_FORM for the conversion actions.
SELECT conversion_action.id, conversion_action.name, conversion_action.status,
conversion_action.type, conversion_action.category FROM conversion_action
WHERE conversion_action.category = 'SUBMIT_LEAD_FORM'
Additionally, you can utilize the Query Builder and Query Validator to build and validate your queries. To retrieve Google Ads API entities and reporting data, you can use one of these methods like GoogleAdsService.SearchStream or GoogleAdsService.Search.

If you are not looking for the above, could you share the uncropped screenshot of the lead form you are referring to in your test account? You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Thanks,

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Based on the information, I understand that you are trying to retrieve leads from lead forms via API but it's always returning as empty and you are looking for guidance. Kindly note that generating the test data in the lead form is out of scope for us since we handle only issues or concerns related to the Google Ads API. However, as you are not able to retrieve the lead data from the API, can you confirm if you are able to see this data in the Google Ads UI? If yes, I would request you to share the complete API logs (request and response logs with request-id and request header) generated at your end along with the uncropped UI screenshot by highlighting the lead data that you are trying to retrieve via the Google Ads API.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Thanks,
