We'll be performing routine system maintenance on Saturday, April 10th from approximately 10:00am to 2:00pm PDT. You won't be able to access AdWords or the API during this time frame, but your ads will continue to run as normal.

Best,

I have some questions about this:

1. How do the servers react when a call is made during that period?
For instance HTTP 500, or a timeout... I tried to test that last time,
I believe March 28, but that time the service appeared to be up all
the time.
2. Can announcements like this be supplied for automatic processing,
eg. in a future version of InfoService? I probably can't use the
Adwords API blog RSS, because that feed also carries other
announcements.
3. What is the difference in hours between "PDT" and UTC (Coordinated
Universal Time, world standard time)? I really have no idea if and
when summer time kicks in at that time zone.

Thanks!

On Thursday 08 April 2010, Zweitze elucidated thus:

PDT is 7 hours behind UTC (i.e. UTC-7), PST is 8 hours behind UTC (i.e.
UTC-8). UTC never has "daylight savings" or "summer" time.

This should help you:

Hi,

To address your questions:

1) The AdWords API server will return a 50x status code for all
requests.

2) This is a good suggestion and something we will look in to.

3) As Joshua replied, PDT is UTC-7.
