Feature request: Google Ads API invoice for automatic payments

Hi, I'm simply trying to automatically get PDFs of Google Ads invoices for accounting purposes. Since this is not sent per email, I manually download them from the Google Ads UI. To automate this process I looked into Google Ads API, but found that customers.invoices.list can only be reached for those with "Monthly invoicing", and my ad spend is way too low to get approved for that. 

Recently my Google Ads invoicing has changed into following a monthly cycle, so I thought it now would work, but the API response with an error still saying that it is only available for accounts with monthly invoicing. 

I would love if you could open up the API to be able for fetching invoices for all, or add a feature to get PDFs per email on a regular basis. 

Let me know if someone can pass this on, or have a workaround.

Regarding 'Automatic Payments', this does not appear to be currently supported in the API as per our invoice documentation.

That said, is this currently a feature that is available in the Google Ads UI's invoice view? If yes and so that I may create a feature request, subject for review, could you share the complete UI screenshot and send it over privately using the Reply privately to author option? If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.

Please note that the 'Automatic Payments' is different from the monthly invoicing. With this, the invoice service of the Google Ads API, which is primarily used for monthly invoicing, could not be used in your scenario.

However, our team has already raised a feature request for automatic payment, subject for review. For now, please follow our blog as to get updated with news and releases about Google Ads API.

As for using the invoice of the Google Ads API, you must really need to enable the monthly invoicing for the Google Ads account and we have eligibility. You must spend a minimum of $5,000 a month (this can vary by country) for any 3 of the last 12 months. Also, could elaborate more about "my Google Ads invoicing has changed into following a monthly cycle, so I thought it now would work, but the API response with an error still saying that it is only available for accounts with monthly invoicing. "

As for "Also please add a feature request regarding emails with PDFs each month. I do believe many companies would appreciate this for accounting purposes. ", to have a clearer view on what you are looking for, would you be able to provide more details here?

The first part you asked me to elaborate on is that Google Ads invoicing has been changing for us on automatic payments. Before I believe you would be charged every 30 days or when a threshold was met. Now it is when threshold is met or the 1st of each month. In addition, we now get a monthly invoice pdf as seen in my screenshot. I assumed these changes would make it easy to access PDF through APi now that they are available. Anyway, I'm happy to hear it is already a subject to review :)

Let me try to elaborate on the second part. Most other companies that are performing automatic payments on my credit card will send me an automatic email. This email will inform about the payment and contain a PDF of the invoice or receipt. Google Ads don't. For accounting purposes we need this PDF to show what was actually bought during the payment. Currently I have to log in and download about 20 PDFs manually each month when they are ready. And this takes extra time for me. Would love if you automatically also sent email with PDF each month like you do on Google Cloud, Workspace and other services.

Let me explain. Monthly invoicing is a payment setting in which Google extends a line of credit to you for your advertising costs, and you receive an invoice each month. What you are describing is a change in non 'monthly invoicing' as described above that instead of every 30 days is every month. You may check this article for more details. Your invoices are accessible via the UI and your request for support for non 'monthly invoice' support via API is subject to review. You may monitor our blog for an update.

For changes in extending credit and for getting emailed automatically your invoices request I suggest you reach out to our product support team via this link for further assistance as these requests aren't API related. The API can only be a conduit to the Ads product as expressed in the Ads UI.
