Regarding 'Automatic Payments', this does not appear to be currently supported in the API as per our invoice documentation.
That said, is this currently a feature that is available in the Google Ads UI's invoice view? If yes and so that I may create a feature request, subject for review, could you share the complete UI screenshot and send it over privately using the Reply privately to author option? If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our googleadsa...@google.com alias instead.

Please note that the 'Automatic Payments' is different from the monthly invoicing. With this, the invoice service of the Google Ads API, which is primarily used for monthly invoicing, could not be used in your scenario.
However, our team has already raised a feature request for automatic payment, subject for review. For now, please follow our blog as to get updated with news and releases about Google Ads API.
As for using the invoice of the Google Ads API, you must really need to enable the monthly invoicing for the Google Ads account and we have eligibility. You must spend a minimum of $5,000 a month (this can vary by country) for any 3 of the last 12 months. Also, could elaborate more about "my Google Ads invoicing has changed into following a monthly cycle, so I thought it now would work, but the API response with an error still saying that it is only available for accounts with monthly invoicing. "
As for "Also please add a feature request regarding emails with PDFs each month. I do believe many companies would appreciate this for accounting purposes. ", to have a clearer view on what you are looking for, would you be able to provide more details here?
