Hi Google Ads API support team!
SELECT campaign.id, ad_group.id, segments.ad_network_type, segments.date, segments.keyword.ad_group_criterion, segments.keyword.info.text, search_term_view.search_term, segments.search_term_match_type, ad_group_ad.ad.id, ad_group_ad.ad.final_urls, metrics.clicks, metrics.cost_micros, metrics.impressions, metrics.conversions, metrics.all_conversions, metrics.view_through_conversions, metrics.engagements, metrics.interactions, metrics.interaction_event_types FROM search_term_view WHERE segments.date>='2024-05-01' AND segments.date<='2024-05-31'  ORDER BY segments.date DESC
And get Response: None.
While in Google Ads UI there are Search Terms shown.

Could you please explain if there are some API reports limitations for https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v17/search_term_view?
Is it possible that SHOPPING campaign data is not supported in search_term_view?

Thanks a lot in advance for any help with my question!
Oksana

Hi Oksana,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

We would like to first specify the following when comparing the value of the Google Ads UI and Google Ads API:
  • The segments and fields of the API and UI should be the same
  • The date range should also be the same
  • Comparing the API and UI at the same level as much as possible
In order to assist you further, please provide us with the complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header) generated at your end while retrieving the data from the search_term_view report. Also, send the uncropped UI screenshot (from your Google Ads account) of the report that you are trying to retrieve via the API.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.
