I'm trying to get all clicks in an ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT.

I want to recieve clicks, impressions ... for the last week.
If i compare the recieved data with the adwords webview, i notice that i dont recieve the clicks, i recieved the interactions.

Is there any way to get only the clicks and not the interactions?

I'd like to know this as well as it really messed up my reports. Are they no longer independent in the API?

Hello,

Could you provide the screenshot from the AdWords product (UI) side where you are comparing the ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT? Just click Reply privately to author in the forum when responding.

Thanks,

Hello,

I believe this is working as intended. The "Interactions" column on the web interface represents a different kind of action depending on the type of ad. Here's a support link describing this: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/6281923

The "Clicks" column in the AdWords API has always had an unfortunate name, as it represents not specifically clicks but rather all "Interactions" the same way that they are defined for the AdWords UI. We are aware of this unfortunate naming discrepancy.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is currently a way to specifically obtain only clicks via the API.

Hello,

Upon closer inspection, I do see the issue here; the behavior of this existing field changed to include video stats without warning. I have contacted our engineering team and will post here as I learn more.

Hello,

We have determined that this is actually working as intended. The "Clicks" column in the API is misnamed, as I mentioned before, and counts both clicks and engagements. The "interactions" column of the web interface includes all interactions, which may include clicks, engagements, and video views depending on the current filters you have set. If you compare "Clicks" minus "Engagements" from the API, then that will match the "Clicks" column of the web interface.

Hopefully this clarifies things.

Mike, AdWords API Team
