Join us for the First Food Sovereignty Action Day of the season on Saturday May 14th from 12pm-3pm at Shavon L. Dean Serenity Garden located at 10900 S. Wentworth Ave, Chicago, IL 60628.
This garden is in memory of Shavon L. Dean (daughter of Deborah Dean) who unfortunately passed away due to gun violence. Deborah works nonstop to bring awareness to this issue and to create a space for community members to feel welcome and safe.
This garden is also one of the many gardens without water in Chicago. Yet, Deborah continues to cultivate this space with fierce love and dedication.
