Hello AUA,

The Gary Comer Youth Center on the Comer Education Campus is currently looking for young adult interns to work in our paid Comer Crops urban agriculture internship program.  The starting wage is $15 per hour with possibilities for advancement, and Comer Crops interns receive free produce and honey from our gardens and urban farm.  Ideal candidates have some farming, gardening, or significant landscaping experience to keep up with our fast pace of work in all weather conditions.  Demonstrated experience or participation in youth programs and urban agriculture is preferred.

Comer Crops interns' duties include the full cycle of caring for the soil, planting and maintaining crops, harvesting, processing, and distributing fresh produce at our farm stand and through neighborhood food pantries and other community partners.  Interns also participate in workforce readiness workshops and other professional development opportunities.  Additional details are available on the application page, linked below.

To apply, fully fill out the application here, including work history and references.  Please reply to this thread with any questions and feel free to forward this information to any relevant groups or individuals in your networks.

Thank you,
Bill Ladd-Cawthorne
