Hi All,

Thank you for signing up last year when we made the first attempt at
organizing 100+ local opengov summits. We had organizers in 40+
cities in a dozen countries signed up, yet we postponed because we
didn't reach 100. Now there is a new window of opportunity for an
event of this nature, especially given last week's launch of the Open
Government Partnership involving 40+ nations.

If you'd like to see your city or local government become more
transparent/participatory/collaborative, consider organizing a local
opengov event March 1-7, 2012. If there are organizers in 100+ cities
that get the buy-in of their local government, then the plan outlined
below will go forward. Otherwise, we'll cancel without wasting
anyone's time.

Interested? Please do sign up as a local organizer by Oct 31st:

The planning for this event will be transparent and participatory. So
far, I am responsible for the current draft of the plan and I'm
looking for others who want to take a more active role shaping this
mass collaboration. We are going to build the plane as we fly it, and
we're going to have some fun as we go.

Over the next week I'll be announcing this event to a broader
audience. I wanted to get your feedback first. What do you think?

Sorry, Lucas, we're going to pass on this round. We haven't been doing much with government groups.

As always, I wish you the best and appreciate all that you do to keep the conversation alive, provide the tools and add innovative ideas.

Best,
