Through the efforts of Love Orlando, First Baptist Orlando and Christian Service Center will be initiating a Love Pantry pilot program this school year in 13 elementary schools throughout Orlando. This project will provide these schools with popular pantry items for distribution to families in need of temporary food assistance.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?!! Glad you asked….
Volunteers are needed to deliver boxed food and cabinets to 13 schools on Tuesday-Thursday (August 16-18). A minimum of 4 drivers each day are needed to transport the food boxes and cabinet along with helpers at each school to unpack the food and stock the shelves. Simply report to Christian Service Center at 9 am to pick up the items for delivery.
In addition volunteers are needed to serve as a “Love Pantry Liaison” for each school throughout the school year. Basic duties are to manage the pantry and ensure it remains stocked and coordinate with the school administration regarding distribution to families.
