Problem with events.pollBlockHits()

Greetings!  I am having a bizarre problem and I cannot seem to find any fix for it. For some reason, events.pollBlockHits() no longer works.  Everything was fine last night but today it will not work.  Here is what I have tried.

I am using blockHit.py from Adventure 4 to test with.

Existing 1.7.10 Canary server : nope

Clean install of 1.7.10 Canary server : nope

Revert to existing install of 1.6.4 Bukkit server : nope

Wipeout my %appdata%/.minecraft directory and re-install minecraft from scratch : nope

Reboot windows : nope

All of CraftyCrossing works except when I hit a diamond block, no score.  It's as if the function has just completely ceased to work, regardless of version.  

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

So I just booted up an old PC, installed python, installed your canary mod 0.6, ran blockHit.py, and it does not work on this PC either.  I've also uninstalled and re-installed java to no effect.  I am stymied.  Could it be something mojang did last night???

Just to check you are RIGHT clicking while holding a sword. A left click isn't a hit its a place.

if you press the Left-click and Right-click together,  it will work fine.of mc.events.pollBlockHits()

I dunno why.....
