Dear Mr. Shuvra,   We are very surprised to see the name of Bangladesh Astronomical Society blamed for arranging Sunrise Festival  and making falsified statement to the daily Prothiom Alo about the spot and height of a site in CHT. As you know Bangladesh Astronomical Society is an Internationally accredited  Organisation which arranges Programmes strictly  related to Astronmomy and Space Science. In fact, Sunrise Observation Festival has been organised by Bangladesh Astronomical Association over a few years  for Commercial purposes and the statements made by the Association to the Press  apparently is to lure customers for more business. As you personally know our General Secretary Mr. F. R. Sarker is financially sound and he does not arrange any  event for commercial purposes or takes donations from others.
