Some thoughts:
+ Would not Suggest a racing bike as it would not be suitable for the traffic in Dhaka city and also the tires are too thin for Dhaka road. Would not suggest a Chinese either. They are flashy but weak built. Buy some Indian MTB ( 6k ) or some Malaysian RB ( 8k plus ).
+ By the way, Hero Ranger Max is heavy as a bull. Of course it is bull in nature too!
+ On Hero Ranger – If you strip off the carrier, mud guards, stands then it becomes much lighter. Good bike indeed.
+ The main benefit of a single speed cycle like hero ranger max is it will give you far less maintenance trouble compared to the ones with gears/multiple speed.
+ Also if someone want to get a second hand one. They may check www.clickbd.com or www.cellbazaar.com . It used to sell cheap used bikes.
+ For multi geared bike preference is not to buy any gear except Shimano and SRAM (They are costly though). And never buy a Chinese one with shifters located on grips. They are total junk! Buy one with shifters mounted on down-tube or thumb shifters. And always remember, too much cogs will set your back wheel alignment towards left!
+ From past experiences, no matter how much the sales person boast about the superiority of their bikes, don’t forget to check the bike yourself before taking it home. Check for the tires alignments & trueness, paddle assembly, properly tighten screws. Check if the tires are touching/too close to the rear forks.. etc. etc.. You might miss lots of issues out of excitement..
