Sub: An initiation to support the existence birds of Bangalore.
 
When was the last we saw or even heard the little winged beauties chirping in our neighborhood? Difficult to remember Little had we imagined that we would have to show our children the once common house sparrows in just pictures and that’s just one of them. A few species are now just confined to specific areas in the city due to various reasons; in general it’s the effect of urbanization.

Urbanization and its related works that have been carried out in the city are inevitable and so here is an initiation to support the birds of Bangalore for coexistence.
 
The development of parks throughout the city in all the areas has been a very good initiative by the BBMP in creating some wonderful lung space. These parks would now be utilized for our project. Specific species of saplings have been identified that would be fruit bearing and nectar yielding trees that would be planted in these parks in various areas. So a combination of saplings that would yield both through out the year for the winged beauties will be planted.
 
This project is in coordination with the forest dept and the BBMP would be carried out before the monsoons. One of my close friends has initiated this project. Volunteers are invited and it would be an excellent opportunity to contribute in reviving the vanishing birds of Bangalore.
