Gone are the days, when a Tiger used to burn bright in the
forests of Indian Sub Continent. The largest member of the Feline
(Cat) family is almost at the brink of extinction! World-wide, the
estimated population of the Bengal Tiger is JUST around 1411. What a
pity if you look back at the figures of 40,000 during the dawn of last
century!!
Incessant hunting, poaching, covert and superstitious
medicinal tag for the tiger bones and body parts only pushed the
accelerator of decline mush faster for these 'majestic cats'.
As the much awaited Tiger Census has just concluded, the
results have a shockingly alerting message for the Government and we,
the people - Act fast or else, LOSE THIS PART OF HERITAGE FOR EVER!!!
