Hi Friends,   Hydventura is planning a trek to one of the most famous forts in Maharashtra – Harishchandragad (Konkan Kada) & Kaladgad fort over a span of 2 days (March 15th – 16th) near Igatpuri, Maharashtra.   Harishchandragad is a fort located in the Ahmednagar part of Maharashtra state in India. It holded a lion's share in controlling the surrounding areas. This fort has got an eye pleasing natural beauty, along with a diverse flora and fauna. Harishchandragad is famous for a lot of specialities such as its marvellous natural beauty, tough trek & none other than the beautiful Konkan Kada. The most interesting point on this fort is this cliff, which has always fascinated many people from many years. The cliff faces west and looks down upon the Konkan. From here, one can have a breathtaking view of the surrounding region and the setting sun. This cliff is not just vertical, it is an overhang, almost like a cobra's hood. It has been climbed many times. It creates a magical wall that is rising straight from the edge of the cliff without entering the landmass area.     The plan goes like this   14th March: [Friday] 1.      14:45 hrs: Train to Pune, Maharashtra.    15th March: [Saturday] 01:10 hrs: Reach Pune. Some freshen up there, if required. 01:30 hrs: Board the local transport booked there. 06:00 hrs: Reach the base location, Paachnai Village, in the booked vehicle. Freshen up here. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast time. 08:00 hrs: Start trekking to the huge Konkan Kada of Harishchandragad. 12:00 hrs: Reach Konkan Kada, and enjoy the views from the gigantic rock wall of Kokan Kada.  13:00 hrs: Lunch. 14:00 hrs: Start trekking towards the base camp, on the bank of a river, via in-famous Nalichi Vat (partially). 19:00 hrs: Reach camp-site, prepare for night stay, under the stars. 20:00 hrs: Dinner time. 20:30 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.           16th March: [Sunday] 06:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast. 07:30 hrs: Start trek to the Kaladgad. 09:30 hrs: Reach Kaladgad, enjoy the surrounding views. Explore the fort, & have your moments clicked. 10:00 hrs: Start trekking down to the base village. 12:00 hrs: Reach Pethe-chi-wadi Village, freshen up here. 12:30 hrs: Have lunch at the Village. 13:00 hrs: Start to Pune, in booked vehicle. 19:00 hrs: Reach Pune Station. 19:05 hrs: Board the train back to Hyderabad.   17th March: [Monday] 07:50 hrs: Reach Hyderabad.         Things to carry: 1. Rucksack/ backpack. 2. Sleeping bag. 3. Shoes with good grip. 4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry. 5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night. 6. Torch. 7. Water Bottle min (2 lt) 8. Toilet kit 9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL 10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need. 11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one. 12. Carry Identification card.   Note: Pl. do not expect any luxury during the Trip. This is an exploratory trek, and we expect things to go wrong. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers. Strictly no plastics to be thrown. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well. Last date for nomination is 4th February by 4:00 PM (Strictly).  Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen]. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked.
