Hi Friends,   Hydventura is planning waterfall rappelling, clubbed with night trek in one of the most famous destinations in the Western ghats of Maharashtra – Malshej Ghat,  over a span of 2 days (April 12th – 13th) near Pune, Maharashtra.    Malshej Ghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. The site is nestled in the lofty rugged hills of the Western Ghats. There are many forts from the Shivaji era, located nearby, due to which Malshej ghat is always an major attraction for the adventurists & tourists. There are may small & big waterfalls located in the area, which are yet another attraction of Malshej ghats.     The plan goes like this   11th April: [Friday] 1.      14:45 hrs: Train to Pune, Maharashtra.    12th April: [Saturday] 01:10 hrs: Reach Pune. Some freshen up there, if required. 01:30 hrs: Board the local transport booked there. 06:00 hrs: Reach the base location, Khubi Village, in the booked vehicle. Freshen up here. 07:00 hrs: Start trekking to the waterfall. 07:30 hrs: Reach the waterfall, & have breakfast here. 09:00 hrs: Start rappelling (five patches of collective height ~600ft.), after instructions & distribution of equipment.  13:00 hrs: have packed lunch. 16:00 hrs: Finish Rappelling, & chill in the fresh water ponds, at the base of the waterfall. 17:00 hrs: Start trek through the jungle to the Thitabi village. 18:00 hrs: Reach Thitabi village, & have some tes-snacks here. Have some rest also J 19:00 hrs: Start night trek to the ancient Malshej ghat. 22:00 hrs: have packed dinner time.           13th April: [Sunday] 00:00 hrs: Finish the trek, reach at the top of the Malshej ghat. Prepare for night stay, under the stars. 08:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up. 09:00 hrs: Breakfast. 10:00 hrs: Start to Pune, in booked vehicle. 15:00 hrs: Reach Pune Station. Have lunch here. 16:30 hrs: Board the train back to Hyderabad.   14th April: [Monday] 06:00 hrs: Reach Hyderabad.         Things to carry: 1. Rucksack/ backpack. 2. Sleeping bag. 3. Shoes with good grip. 4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry. 5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night. 6. Torch. 7. Water Bottle min (2 lt) 8. Toilet kit 9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL 10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need. 11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one. 12. Carry Identification card.   Note: Pl. do not expect any luxury during the Trip. This is an exploratory trek, and we expect things to go wrong. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non-smokers. Strictly no plastics to be thrown. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well. Last date for nomination is 14th March by 4:00 PM (Strictly).  Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen]. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked. ·          HydVentura is an unofficial Adventure club initiated by a few likeminded folks from the Infosys- Hyderabad DC . Infosys is in no way related to the activities being organized by the club .
