Hi Friends,

Hydventura is planning a scenic trek to Dabbe Falls & Kanoor Kote fort over a span of 2 days (Apr12th – 13th) near Shimoga, Karnataka.

Dabbe Falls is a pristine waterfall near Hosagadde in Shimoga. This falls is deeply hidden in the mountains near Hosagadde. The trek route through the deep valley leads to the delightful Dabbe Falls. "Dabbe Falls" one of the few waterfalls of Karnataka which have not been polluted with frequent tourist and hence still preserves its heavenly touch. where the water plunges into narrow gorge, to witness one need to negotiate steep descent, checks all your Adventure skills.

Kanoor Fort also called as Keladi Kote is located in middle of the dense forest in Sagar Taluk, Shimoga district. Keladi is the name of the dynasty who ruled this place, hence Kanoor Fort is also called as the name Keladi Kote. The meaning of Kote is Fort in Kannada language.

The plan goes like this

11th APR: [Friday]

1. 19:30 hrs: Bus to Bhatkal, Karnataka..

12th APR: [Saturday]

1. 08:45 hrs: Reach bhatkal. Some freshen up there. (Ppl coming from other places, can join us bhatkal,)
2. 09:00 hrs: have some breakfast, & packed lunch.
3. 09:30 hrs: Take some local transport to Hosangadde Village, .
4. 12:00 hrs: Reach the Hosangadde village, & start the trek towards Dabbe waterfalls.
5. 14:00 hrs: Reach Gowdara Mane, have lunch here.
6. 14:30 hrs: Find a place to keep luggage, & move to Dabbe waterfalls (if flow is decent, we can swim/bath there).
7. 16:00 hrs: Come back to Gowdara mane, pickup the luggage, & move towards Kanoor village.
8. 20:00 hrs: Reach Kanoor village, check for stay here.
9. 20:30 hrs: Dinner time.
10. 21:00 hrs: Play some games, around the camp-fire (subject to availability). Sleep after that.

13th APR: [Sunday]

1. 06:00 hrs: Good morning. Get freshen up.
2. 07:00 hrs: Breakfast.
3. 07:30 hrs: Start trekking to Kanoor Kote (Kanoor Fort).
4. 09:00 hrs: Reach the fort, explore the surroundings, & click some memorable moments.
5. 11:00 hrs: Start trek to Bastikere, the finishing point.
6. 14:00 hrs: Reach Bastikere, have lunch here.
7. 14:30 hrs: Time for boat-ride. Hire a boat to cross the Sharvati backwaters to reach Gerusoppa.
8. 15:00 hrs: Reach Gerusoppa. Take local transport to Shimoga.
9. 17:45 hrs: Reach Shimoga/Bhatkal, & board the bus back to your respective locations.

14th June: [Monday]

1. 06:00 hrs: Reach Hyderabad/Bangalore/Mysore/Mangalore/your respective location.




Things to carry:
1. Rucksack/ backpack.
2. Sleeping bag.

3. Shoes with good grip.

4. A few plastic covers to keep items dry.

5. Slippers/ floaters for using in night.

6. Torch.

7. Water Bottle min (2 lt)

8. Toilet kit

9. Camera/Binocular- OPTIONAL

10. First – Aid kit, any specific medicines you need.

11. Traveller’s/Swiss knife ..If you have one.

12. Carry Identification card.


Note:

1. Pl. do not expect any luxury during the Trip. This is an exploratory trek, and we expect things to go wrong.
2. No alcohol or loud music. Also we prefer non smokers.
3. Strictly no plastics to be thrown.
4. This Trip is open for Infosys and Non-Infoscions as well.
5. Last date for nomination is 15th APR by 4:00 PM (Strictly). Amount should be transferred to the account number [will be sent once nominations are frozen]
6. The cost mentioned below included all expenses, except the emergencies. However, for folks coming from other locations (except Hyderabad), transportation cost will be additional, & will be arranged only when asked.
