Greetings Scouts,

Thank you for the good conversation today, I hope you appreciate the material in the Citizenship in community MB. Here are several items I would follow up with.

Resources:
Citizenship in Community Workbook (please fill out as we go)
Map of the Stow from topozone.com (requirement 2a)

Makeup for session 1 (MB overview and requirements 1, 2a, 6):
As I mentioned in the scout meeting, I will be holding a makeup session this Thursday at 7-8 pm, for scouts that missed tonight's 1st session. This would apply to the following scouts who signed up, but were not at Monday's scout meeting (i.e. Kevin, Maggie, Cam, Gabe). Let me know if you can or cannot attend this Thursday, and be prepared to discuss/complete requirements 1, 2a, 6.

Citizenship in Community 2023 Session 1 makeup
Thursday, March 2 · 7:00 – 8:00pm
Google Meet joining info
Video call link: https://meet.google.com/rcg-vrzj-ttz

Session 2 requirements (requirements 3 and 5):
In the next session (Monday 3/6) I will introduce materials about local governing structures, to help in the next set of homework. The following two items are your homework for this week, for preparation for our next meeting (March 6th).

Requirement 3a requests for you to attend a meeting or court session, and be prepared to explain why you agree with one opinion more than another. Many of the town meetings are archived on the Stow TV Youtube Channel (School Committee, Lake Boon Commision, SelectBoard, Planning Board, Library Building Committee, FPAS Task Force, Stow Acres master plan) which I will allow instead of in person attendance.  [Hint: I suggest using youtube's playback speed of 1.25x]. In order to complete the 2nd half of this requirement 3b (Discuss where a difference of opinion exists on an issue), please refresh yourself on requirement 3b before you start watching the video. Scouts are to bring their own discussion points, even if they end up watching the same meeting.

Requirement 5; Movie and discuss:
For this requirement, Please show your parents requirement #5 from the workbook, and obtain their approval for which movie to watch: Here is a suggested list of potential candidates, I grabbed from another counselor which is a suggestion list. If you have a different movie in mind, please ask.

Best Regards - Mr. Disch (jdis...@gmail.com)

Greetings Scouts,

I am awfully sorry about the very late notice. I had a late meeting show up on my calendar, which rendered me still in Cambridge this evening at this time.

Therefore, this will give you some additional time to go over the homework.

I will be holding the 2nd session of materials in the following two options:
This Thursday March 9th, 7-8 pm online

Or at the next Monday's Scout meeting.

Please bring your notes on the town meeting and movies that you watched and the movies that watched.

Best Regards,
Jeremy
