Dear Sir
Here are some instances where शाङ्करभाष्यम् differentiates between brahma (of the trimurtis?) and Ishwara/brahman/Atman. And in some instances below, placing brahma within the realm of ignorance (?!) The word used in all the below instances is Brahma and not Hiranyagarbha.
...... one transmigrates under the influence of ignorance, desire, and action, by rotating again and again through the regions of the gods, animals, and men, that range from Brahma to a clump of grass.
For the purpose of creating a feeling of Disgust in the minds of persons seeking for Liberation, it is necessary to describe the process of Births and Deaths—relating to the whole world—from Brahma down to the tuft of grass....
This atman is seated, as the atman, in the heart of every living creature, from Brahma down to a clump of grass....
Purusha in all beings - from brahma to a clump of grass - is hidden.....
The supreme Ishwara, who is the prANa of the prANa, shines forth through all beings, from brahma to a clump of grass......
The other attainments, characterised by the taking of a body, from the state of brahma down to that of a clump of grass, are created by ignorance and therefore inferior to this, being within the sphere of ignorance. But this identification with all, in which one sees nothing else, hears nothing else, knows nothing else, is the highest of all attainments such as identity with the gods, that are achieved through meditation and rites.
3.7.1 and 3.7.14
Kāpya, do you know that Sūtra by which this life, the next life and all beings, from brahma down to a clump of grass, are held together, strung like a garland with a thread?”
...the meditation on the Internal Ruler as pertaining to the different grades of beings from Hiraṇyagarbha down to a clump of grass.
Api, san ajah, though I am birthless; and avyayatma, undecaying by nature, though I am naturally possessed of an undiminishing power of Knowledge; and so also api san, though; isvarah, the Lord, natural Ruler; bhutanam, of beings, from Brahma to a clump of grass; (still) adhisthaya, by subjugating; svam, My own; prakrtim, Prakrti, the Maya of Visnu consisting of the three gunas, under whose; spell the whole world exists, and deluded by which one does not know one's own Self, Vasudeva;-by subjugating that Prakrti of Mine, sambhavami, I take birth, appear to become embodeid, as though born; atma-mayaya, by means of My own Maya; but not in reality like an ordinary man. It is being stated when and why that birth occurs:
The idea is this: Know the 'Knower of the field'- who has become diversified by limiting adjuncts in the form of numerous 'fields' ranging from Brahma to a clump of grass-as free from differentiations resulting from all the limiting adjuncts, and as beyond the range of such words and ideas as existence, nonexistence, etc.
More such instances can be found in the प्रस्थानत्रयी भाष्य
