Exceptional initiative. However, people who don't understand Tamil will not be able to benefit.

If someone can take the responsibility of translating the lectures in English or Hindi or Sanskrit, it will be of immense benefit.

I had personally requested for sessions on Dṛṣṭi-sṛṣṭi-vāda. The classes on Aṣṭāvakra Gītā will, however, be much more beneficial than even that on DSV.

Regards,
Sudhanshu Shekhar.

Sudhanshu ji,  Namaste !

I was hoping for the same as you. Given I felt that was a tall order, I then  tried some apps/ tech / AI translation services to no avail.

I have recently started running Vedanta lectures in Tamil back to back , in the hope of learning Tamil through Vedanta. ! This is called the 'immersion method' of learning any language. Hoping to learn Tamil and Kannada in this manner. There are so many eminent Guru's and Shastrigal's lectures in these South Indian languages. Some day, I hope to be able to understand all these.  This seems to be the only viable option as of now. It could take months of  consistent exposure to even just develop 'shravana sanskara', leave alone beginning to understand anything at all, leave alone topics as subtle as Vedanta.  However, at that stage, it might seem worth the effort.

Namaskaram Sudhanshu-ji, Sakshi-ji,

For this particular video, youtube gave auto-generated tamil subtitles (press CC) and if we click the settings tab at bottom right and choose the subtitles option, it also gave an "Auto translate" option. I clicked "English" and a translation is generated. I just followed at the beginning and it does have errors - so you have to be alert and re-interpret what really was said at places, but might suffice for getting the gist and flow of his talk.

probably, for a native speaker, too much error in basic grammar and re-framing of sentences. But still gives the basic "gist and flow" for others who want to follow. AI (I hope) should improve rapidly in these aspects. That will enable easy communication with locals throughout India and world.

Namaskaram,

YouTube allows us to see the full written transcript, which I copy-pasted here (though that also is roundabout process on phone: must go through browser).

However, the ai translator that I checked seemed to do a much worse job. If anyone knows a good free translator, you can perhaps have this translated into English.

Just an observation about AI translation: English subtitles were provided for a Telugu video.  Whenever the speaker referred to Shankaracharya using the honorific plural 'vāru' (avar/gal in Tamil), the English translation rendered it literally as 'They'.
